State Insurance Department Information

According to the Alabama Department of Insurance,  an estimated 65,000 insurance claims related to last week’s storms have been filed thus far. The estimate was developed using claims counts provided by various insurers.

Insurance Commissioner Jim Ridling is encouraging Alabamians to contact the department with questions at 1-800-433-3966. The Department will be open for telephone calls on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. It is also staffing various disaster recovery centers established by FEMA.
